The Art of Winning: Inside the Giftex Precious Collectibles Auction

Reading Time: 6 minutes

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of an online auction.

Screens glow late into the night. Bidders log in from different cities, sometimes different countries. Tabs are refreshed again and again. You review the current bids, wonder who else is raising the stakes, and decide whether to go just one step higher. Then the countdown begins. Ten seconds. Five. Three. The curtain closes.

And if the timing is right, the treasure is yours.

At Giftex, we’ve seen these electrifying moments unfold time and again. But the recently concluded Giftex Precious Collectibles Auction, held from 23 to 24 February 2026, was something special. From the very first minute to the final hammer, the energy never dipped. Bidders logged in early, stayed active, and competed fiercely for pieces that rarely come to market.

The Atmosphere: Two Days of Intense Bidding

The auction opened on the morning of 23 February, and within minutes, bids began to climb across multiple categories. By midday, the competition was in full swing.

What stood out most was the engagement. Collectors were not just browsing. They were researching, comparing, and actively participating.

As closing time approached on 24 February, the tension built. Last-minute bids came in during the final countdown on several premium lots.

When the auction officially closed, one thing was clear. It had delivered both excitement and results.

Numbers That Speak for Themselves

The numbers are in, and they tell a strong story.

The Giftex Precious Collectibles Auction achieved total sales of ₹ 3,29,23,198, marking one of the most successful online auctions hosted by Giftex. The highest bid of the event was for lot 129, A Pair Of Emerald & Basra Pearl Vintage Jhumkas for ₹ 17,81,800, reflecting the strong demand for rare and high-quality pieces.

These numbers are more than figures on a page. They reflect trust, enthusiasm, and confidence from collectors.

Categories In Focus

This auction focused on three carefully curated categories: jewellery, silver, and timepieces. Each category attracted its own passionate audience.

  1. Jewellery: From Contemporary Glamour to Vintage Charm

Jewellery was one of the star attractions of the event. The collection featured luxury pieces with brilliant hues, finely cut gemstones, and craftsmanship that ranged from contemporary design to vintage elegance.

Several jewellery lots saw competitive bidding in the final hours, with prices steadily climbing as bidders refused to let go of their chosen pieces.

  1. Silver: Timeless Craftsmanship

The silver category showcased vintage silverware that blended utility with beauty. Collectors appreciate vintage silver not only for its intrinsic value but also for its heritage. Many pieces in this auction reflected traditional craftsmanship and design styles that are rarely seen in modern production.

  1. Timepieces: Icons of Precision and Prestige

Vintage and luxury watches formed the third pillar of the auction. This category included timepieces from renowned brands such as Rolex and Patek Philippe, as well as other respected names in horology.

Highlights: Top 5 Lots Sold

While every lot had its own story, five stood out for their performance and bidder interest.

  1. LOT 129, A Pair Of Emerald & Basra Pearl Vintage Jhumkas

The top lot of the sale was a striking pair of vintage jhumkas from Rajasthan. Crafted in 22k gold, the earrings are suspended from fine strands of Basra pearls, punctuated with vivid green emerald accents. The domed jhumkas finished in rich green Meenakari enamel are a testament to classic Indian craftsmanship at its finest.

  1. LOT 69, A Rajput-Style Spinel & Emerald Necklace With Polki Pendant

This antique necklace, executed in the traditional Jadau technique in 22k gold, reflects the enduring legacy of Rajasthani jewellery-making.

Strands of tumble-cut emeralds and spinels lead to a polki-set pendant. The combination of uncut diamonds, richly coloured gemstones, and handcrafted gold gives the piece a strong historical character.

Winning Bid: ₹ 13,45,200

  1. LOT 122, A Fine Diamond & Colombian Emerald Ring

Clean and refined, this 18k yellow gold emerald ring centres on a vibrant Colombian emerald set in an open-sided mount. The band is lined with smaller emeralds, creating a seamless flow around the finger.

  1. LOT 42, An Exceptional Geometric Diamond & Emerald Pendant

This diamond pendant stands out for its architectural precision. A step-cut emerald anchors the centre, framed by two rows of round brilliant-cut diamonds.

The outer frame extends horizontally and ends in stylised leaf motifs, while the top is finished with a geometric, crown-like element. The composition carries a strong Art Deco influence, structured, symmetrical, and bold.

  1. LOT 244, Turn-O-Graph Stainless Steel Wristwatch

This Turn-O-Graph wristwatch combines technical reliability with understated design. It features a self-winding movement, calibre 645 with two jewels. The black dial carries lume-filled circular hour markers, rectangular baton markers at 6 and 9, and an inverted triangular marker at 12 for clarity. Functional and classic, it shows that collectors at the sale were equally drawn to mechanical precision as they were to fine jewellery.
