The Marie<\/span>\u2011<\/span>Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Pink diamond is believed to have been among a group of jewels that Marie Antoinette entrusted to her trusted coiffeur (hairdresser) on the eve of her failed escape from Paris in 1791\u2014a dramatic episode now known as the Flight to Varennes. Unfortunately, the royal family\u2019s attempted escape during the Flight to Varennes failed. They were captured and brought back to Paris and executed.<\/span><\/p>\n
